Heather Schmitt Studios started in 2004 after the birth of Heather's first daughter, Charlotte. While searching for the right design for her newborn, Heather realized their was a need for a stylish alternative to the small pool of baby design companies.
 
 With this in mind, she started a small design company solely for nurseries and children's rooms. Her passion for design soon turned into a full scale design business, offering various services for residential, commercial and home staging.

 Style: Our work has been featured in numerous publications in both San Diego and Orange County. We believe in incoporating current trends through accessories and finishing touches wrapped around classic style. A blend of vintage pieces and favorite items mixed with new pieces allows for greater staying power and personalizes the space. It is in this way that each project is unique to it's owner and the character of the individual is maintained. We have worked with a varitey of genres ranging from Hacienda to French Country to Mid-Century but  believe an eclectic mix is a great option for long term staying power. By unifying various periods and styles through color and texture, a fresh approach to design is presented.

Value: As mentioned above, HSS enjoys mixing current furnishings with new pieces. Not only does this allow for the individual character of the owner to shine through, but this avoids the "time stamped" feeling of buying everything during one particular period. In fact, when doing projects from bare bones, Heather will seek out vintage chandeliers, heirloom pieces and antique art just to break up the monotony and avoid the "showroom" look. This approach also provides cost savings as the idea is to use what you have, where you can and proceed from there.
